Treatment Options


Instructor:

Kim McLauchlin is a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor.  Kim has been a trainer since 2009 and has done private tranining and taught Yoga/Pilates and Barre.  Kim is also first aide and CPR certified.  She specializes in functional training and core strengthening.  Personal training is also available if requested.

Course Description:

This course utilizes Pilate movements for core stabilization and postural alignment, plus strength training for teenagers through healthy, active adults.  Education of correct alignment of spine, hips, and knees will be emphasized in each class.  Participants will also receive education on correct weightlifting techniques and proper bio-mechanics to promote a healthy spine.  This class will challenge all fitness levels and is taught by a certified personal trainer who will make certain you are executing moves safely and correctly.

 


Course Objectives:

  1. Participants will achieve improved balance and proprioception to decrease risk of injuries during sports and daily activities.
  2. Participants will improve muscle strength of the core and pelvic floor, which may help with incontinence issues that may occur from weakness of the core. 
  3. Participants will demonstrate improved core strength in all postures including standing, kneeling, and plank positions to indicate increased stability of shoulders, spine, pelvis, and knees with the goal of decreasing risk of injuring joints during sports and daily activities.
